Position:
Producer – 2011
Songs From Big Sky Country has set a new standard for contemporary Indigenous music in the NT through an innovative collaboration between prominent Indigenous musicians from Central Australia and Darwin Symphony Orchestra.
Produced for Alice Desert Festival, the project partnered desert darlings Warren H. Williams, Catherine Satour & Jacinta Price with the Darwin Symphony Orchestra creative team. Original compositions from each artist were transformed into contemporary orchestral arrangements. The resulting pieces have a classic big band feel combining the sound of the desert with the power of strings, brass and percussion.
