I am focused on working with diverse communities – developing and delivering empowering projects with purpose and social impact.
Across many projects, I have been a Producer, Project Manager, Production/Operations Manager, Management Committee member, Consultant and Mentor. I have history working on sustainability and conservation projects, and have been working in cultural development and creative industries field for the last 15+ years.
I have worked extensively with Indigenous communities in the NT, FNQ and the Northern Rivers – building professional, personal and cultural development opportunities to engage, empower and build capacity. This has become my passion and vision – developing community-led projects and creative platforms as mechanisms for social change.
To achieve this I have undertaken many roles:
- Producer – designing and delivering projects relevant to community and “place” – telling the story and character of the locale through various creative mediums – cultural festivals, public art/murals, digital media and traditional ceremony.
- Project Manager – Seeing significant projects through from conception to delivery and completion. This has included successfully applying for grants, managing multi-year budgets and cashflows, overseeing recruitment and team progress, developing organisational partnerships, evaluation and reporting.
- Mentor and Skills Development – Developing & delivering skills and capacity-building programs across a range of arts and technology, to a broad range of diverse participants and communities.
- Organisational change agent – active involvement in several Boards and Management Committees over many years, as well as participating in numerous multi-year strategic planning processes.
- Consultant – community engagement, grant writing, project planning, resource development and team building.
- Events Manager – handling all aspects of management: booking acts, finances, HR, liaising with government and sponsors, Risk & Emergency Management, budgets, marketing… and the occasional lost child! I have extensive experience delivering unique events in challenging locations, particularly outdoors and remote First Nations communities.
- Design – layout and custom design of Annual Reports, websites, posters, logos, merchandise and organisational templates primarily using the Adobe suite.
As every project and community is different, I have developed a broad and adaptable skill set along with an intuitive approach to engaging with communities, stakeholders and project partners.
I also have a love for cooking, music, design and exploring the natural world through hiking, camping and surfing.
